Albert Schulte, born (1960) and raised in Papenburg, Germany.
Married, one daughter.

1981-1988: Studies in the subject Chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany.
Diploma theses (equiv. to M.Sc.) in the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry on the topic: “Voltammetric microelectrodes made of highly oriented carbon fibers”.
1991-1994: Ph.D. student at the University of Münster, Germany, Institute of Inorganic Chemistry. Topic of the thesis work: “Preparation and characterisation of different types of ultra-microelectrodes: A contribution to the development of novel microsensors for electrochemical bio- and trace analysis and various methods of scanning probe microscopy”.
1995-1996: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine, Molecular Biology of Neuronal Signals Göttingen, Germany.
